今週はあまり予定のない週末の定番で、ビデオニュースドットコムの5金を見ました。第5金曜日がある月は、無料放送企画があります。
5金はよく映画を題材にしているのですが、今回は「映画はカルトをどう描いてきたか」というテーマでした。

改めて、ビデオニュースドットコムをおすすめしたいと思います。5金は無料なので、良いきっかけになるのではないでしょうか。今のところ入会後の5金を中心に見ていますが、以下は7月31日時点の私的トップ3です。

今回の京都滞在の主眼は伯母をおもてなしする事で、家族旅行になりました。伯母は歌舞伎が好きなので、南座に歌舞伎を観に行きたかったのですが、この時期ちょうどやっておらず、代わりに日本舞踊を観に行きました。伯母曰く、「玉三郎は絶対観るべき」との事でしたが、その通りでした！伯母の発表会くらいしか日本舞踊を観た事はありませんでしたが、「これが日本舞踊か！」と思いました。（ごめんね）
とても綺麗でドラマチックでした。

It was a typical weekend without much plans this weekend, and I watched the 5th Friday special airing of videonews.com. It offers free airings on every 5th Friday of the month if there is 5th Friday.
5th Friday airings often feature films and this time the theme was “How films have depicted cults.” Link to the 5th Friday free programme of videonews.com
Along with the airing from previous week, it deals with the issues around Unification Church, and religion and society in general.

Once again, I would like to recommend videonews.com. And this 5th Friday series could be the good starting, as they are free. I’ve mainly watched the airings aired after I signed up for the subscription, but below is my top 3 recommendations as of today (31st July 2022).
- 1,000th anniversary eve programme, which plays back some of the most important past airings
- The one Saito-sensei (Kohei Saito) is the guest
- The one picks up Demon Slayer– it eventually guided me to the world of anime again
Having said that, today’s ‘time for that’
My Kyoto stay was partly for hosting my aunt this time, it was a family trip. As she’s a fan of kabuki, we wanted to go watch kabuki at the kabuki theatre Minamiza, but unfortunately there wasn’t a kabuki programme at that time and we went to watch nihon buyo (traditional Japanese dance) instead. She said Tamasaburo was a must watch, and she’s right! I’ve never watched nihon buyo except for aunt’s school presentation, and I felt… so it was the true nihon buyo! (sorry aunt…) Very beautiful and dramatic.
