8月15日は敗戦/終戦記念日なので、戦争映画か何かを観たいと思いました。
小学校の時、「はだしのゲン」とか「火垂るの墓」上映会などありましたが、何故かいつも途中まででした。授業のコマの長さの関係かも。なので最後まで観たことないので、最後まで観る良い機会かもしれませんが、ちょうど悲劇を観る力がなかったので、ちょうど興味があった「この世界の片隅に」を観ることしました。
予想通り、悲しい話を避けようとする傾向のある私のような人には観やすい映画でした。
戦争が影を落とす中美しい景色と心温まるエピソードが広がり、悲劇があちらこちらで表面化するけれど、人生は続いていく。
広島に半月前に行ったばかりなので、この映画を観るにはベストなタイミングでした。誰もが一度は広島に行くべきだと思います。
たまたま戦時下のモロッコを舞台にした「カサブランカ」も観る機会がありました。かつては映画好きを自称していた私ですが、観たことのない名作が沢山あります・・・何かおすすめありますか？

As 15th August was the anniversary of the defeat/end of the war, I wanted to watch a war film or something, and wondered what to watch.
Back in primary school, there were sometimes film viewing of “Barefoot Gen” or “Grave of the Fireflies”, but it was somehow always until the middle. Perhaps due to the limited class duration… So I’ve actually never watched them until the end. So it was probably a good timing to finally watch them, but as I didn’t have enough energy to watch tragedy at that time, I decided to watch “In this Corner of the World”, which I have been interested in for some time.
As expected, it was a film more accessible for those who tend to avoid to watch something sad like myself. It’s a good introduction for such person, though we mustn’t give up watching “Barefoot Gen” in the end.
Beautiful scenery and heart warming episodes when the war casting shadow, then the tragedy surfaces here and there. Still life goes on.
It was also the best timing to watch this, as I just went to Hiroshima half a month ago. I think everybody should go to Hiroshima once.
I also happened to watch “Casablanca”, which sets in the war time Morocco. I used to claimed myself as a film lover, but there’re too many masterpieces that I haven’t watch… any recommendations?
Having said that, today’s time for that
Today’s lunch was meat free lunch.
I don’t like the photo looks a little grotesque… oh well, but that’s how miso often looks?
