I dropped by the Democracy Youth Festival held being held for these two days at Komazawa Park.
I used to think that democracy is very important, but from seeing what democracy yield… such as the long lasted LDP government or the 2nd Trump administration, I have been a little dubious against democracy.
However, thinking about countries where election does not exist or election does not function, or election is reduced to a mere shell, we are still fortunate that we have elections. Thinking about countries like China, there’s a world of difference that we have elections.
Besides, it’s a ‘youth festival’…. so I must respond when I’m called, huh?
The event was less crowded than I imagined, perhaps partly due to the weather or this season of hay fever…. Last year, I heard some celebrities such as Shun Oguri visited last year, but I couldn’t find any this year, though I wasn’t really seriously looking for, so I might have missed some.
I joined the sticker voting for the first time in my life! It was 2 hours after the event open, but it seemed only a few people joined…. I chose ‘100% renewable energy against climate change’ as the thing I most wish for, but afterwards I felt that I should have chosen ‘others’ and say ‘abandonment of nuclear power generation.’ It’s not a good habit to naturally try to choose from the options.

And of course, I rated minus for the satisfaction of LDP government.
Having said that, today’s ‘time for that’
So I said I went to Shimane via Kyoto, but I also stopped in Nagoya on my way back to Tokyo, as that is one of the best things of the long-distance travel. Though it was only like 30min and couldn’t enjoy the whole ‘oshi-tabi’ programme, I could have a look at the Attack on Titan pop up store and met some of these favourite people enjoying surveying in Nagoya.
