何という2024年の幕開けでしょう。1/1に能登半島大地震が発生するなんて・・・被災された方にお見舞い申し上げます。
能登半島の地理的条件が救済活動を困難にしている事は分かりますが、それにしても政府による必要なアクションの欠如と遅延が状況を最悪にしています。コロナの時もそうでしたが、無能で不誠実な政府というのは人々を殺します。この地域の原発が本当に大丈夫なのかも心配です。原発のリスクには常に背筋がゾっとする思いです。原発は全て廃止しなければなりません。
このような自然災害の時、私に出来る事は前は寄付をすることくらいでしたが、今は、近所の日本共産党員の皆さんの駅宣などに参加して支援を呼びかけるなど、もう少しできることが増えたのは良かったです。残念ながら、今年はまだ参加できていませんが、近々。
今回寄付の方は、初日から空飛ぶ捜索医療団ARROWSを派遣した認定NPO法人ピースウィンズ・ジャパンにしました。当初は、ピースウィンズ・ジャパンと、宮台先生が関わっているらしいピースボートと、どちらにしようかと迷ったのですが、今回は医療が本当に大事だと思ったのでこちらにしました。

お正月休みは如何でしたでしょうか？新年のご挨拶申し上げます。
私は実家の盛岡に帰り、その後、牛田智大さんがソリストを務めたプラハ交響楽団のニューイヤーコンサートを聴きに北海道に行きました。今回全4回開催されたプラハ交響楽団によるニューイヤーコンサートの第1回目でした。北海道の時は既にとても美しく華やな演奏でしたが、コンサートは回を重ねるごとに更に良くなっていきました。
ともあれ、今回は私にとって初めての北海道でした。コンサートの為札幌に1泊し、その後函館に行きました。短い旅行且つ移動時間は長いので自由時間は限られていましたが、北海道産の羊肉を使ったジンギスカンと函館の夜景を満喫しました。
東京から北海道（特に札幌）に行くのはちょっと遠いので、環境に良くないと分かっていながらも飛行機を使いたい衝動にかられますが、盛岡経由で行き、帰りも函館からだったので、負担を軽減出来、誘惑に負けずに済んで良かったです。

What a start of a year. A huge earthquake hit Noto Peninsula of Ishikawa Prefecture on the first day of 2024. My deepest sympathy to the victims.
I understand the situation over there got more difficult due to the geographic feature of the area, but the lack and delay of the necessary actions of the government made the situation worse. It shows incompetent and insincere government can kill people, so as the case with COVID19 pandemic. I also worry if the nuclear power plants in the area really ok. The risks of nuclear power plants continue to frighten our spines. They should all be abolished.
Only the thing I could do at such occasion of natural disaster happened somewhere far from me, used to be giving some as a donation. I think it’s good that now I can do a little more – appealing for an aid by joining the street/station activity of neighbour JCP members. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to join one this year yet, but hopefully next time.
As for a donation, I’ve donated to the NPO Peace Winds Japan, which dispatched ARROWS (Flying Search and Medical Team) from the day one, this time. At first, I wondered which, Peace Winds Japan or Peace Boat, which Miyadai-sensei seems to have some relation with, but I felt medicine is really important this time, so.

How was your New Year holiday? Hope you still have some nice time.
I spent my New Year holiday in my hometown, Morioka, then went to Hokkaido to listen to a New Year Concert by Prague Symphony Orchestra with Tomoharu Ushida as a solist. It was the first of four New Year concerts they played together. I felt the concerts got better with each session, though it was already very beautiful and gorgeous in Hokkaido.
Anyway, it was my first Hokkaido. Stayed in Sapporo for the concert and explored Hakodate afterwards. It was a short trip with long travel time, so free time was limited, but I still enjoyed Jingisukan (lam dish) with Hokkaido grown sheep and the night view of Hakodate.
It’s a bit long way to go to Hokkaido (especially Sapporo) from Tokyo, so I’m a little tempted to use airplane, which is not good for environment. I’m glad I could avoid it by going there from Morioka and coming back from Hakodate.
