昨日は寒すぎて、思わず通りすがった二子玉川ストリートマーケットで暖かい靴下を買い求めてしまいました。
99%オーガニックコットンということで、本当は100%が良かったのですが、お店の人曰く、日本の卓越した技術をもってしても100%オーガニックコットンの靴下というのは作れないのだそうです。でないと1回で壊れてしまうらしいです。
巷では100%オーガニックコットンの靴下が売られていますが、それはそう表示してOKになっているのでそう表示しているだけで、実際には違うのだとか。
コットンよりは麻の方が暖かいけれど、麻よりもオーガニックコットンの方が暖かいということも教えてもらいました。意外！
よい勉強になった買い物でした。
I heard it’s unconstitutional for the Prime Minister to dissolve the Lower House whenever he wants, so I can’t just be glad that the election is coming soon, but anyway, it’s the long awaited Lower House election.

It’s impossible to be closed with this COVID19 situation when they were open all the time when 3.11 happened. Besides, it’s against the Constitution again.
Having said that, today’s ‘time for that’
Yesterday was so cold that I bought warm socks at Futakotamagawa Street Market stopped by.
It’s made with 99% organic cotton and at first, I wanted 1% more.
But the shop told me that even with Japanese excellent craftsmanship, it’s impossible to produce 100% organic cotton socks – otherwise it’ll be torn by one use.
So the 100% organic cotton socks here and there are actually not 100% organic cotton, but they’re allowed to label as such.
I also learned that linen is warmer than cotton, but organic cotton is warmer than linen. Interesting!
It was a good learning shopping today.
