またまた白井先生の著書です。
昨年の論壇フェスで白井先生に、「第二次世界大戦の戦後処理は、広島と長崎への原爆投下とポツダム宣言で済んでいる」と言っている友人におすすめの著作を質問しました。
すると先生はご自身の代表作である『永続敗戦論』を挙げてくださいましたが、実は先生の近著は読んでいたもののこちらはまだ読んでいませんでした。

そこで今年の論壇フェスまでに読み終えて（はい、時間かかり過ぎなのは分かってます・・・）、先生のサインを貰いながら「去年お勧めいただいた通り、この本を友人に先生のサイン付きで送りつけます」と伝えました。
数ヶ月前に無事に彼女に手渡しできましたが、果たして彼女は最近第一子を出産したばかりで、興味もないだろうこんな難解な本を読む時間があるかどうか・・・疑問です。

今月初め、企画展の最終日に急いでモーリス・ユトリロ展に行って来ました。最近は美術展に行く機会が減って残念です。一つには、前より忙しくなってしまって、もう一つには、歌舞伎などの舞台やコンサートに行くことが増え、舞台での芸能に時間とお金を取られて美術鑑賞の余裕がなくなりました。それでもたまに絵を楽しむ時間は良いです。ユトリロの絵は、母が好きな松本竣介の絵に少し似ている気がします。日常の風景を、どこか物憂げなトーンで描いています。

Another book by Mr. Satoshi Shirai.
At previous year’s Rondan Fes, I told Shirai-sensei that a friend of mine said that the post WW II settlement had been done by atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, followed by Potsdam Declaration, and asked what book of his he would recommend for that friend so I could tell her the post war settlement hadn’t properly been completed, and that was the issue.
He named this “The Theory of Permanent Defeat”, the representative work of his. To be honest, I hadn’t read this one at that time, though I had read multiple newer books of his.

Therefore, I read that by this year’s Rondan Fes (yeah I know, I’m so slow…), and got his autograph on the book, telling him that I would give that book with author’s autograph on, to a friend of mine, as he recommended previous year.
I successfully gave it to her a few months ago. The thing is now that she has recently gave birth to her first child, and I wonder if she would have time to read such difficult book that does not interest her….
Having said that, today’s ‘time for that’
Hurried over to the art exhibition theming Maurice Utrillo on the final day of the exhibition early this month. Shame I’ve been fewer art exhibition these days. For one thing, I’m busier than the past and for another, I go more concerts and stages such as kabuki, so performing arts take my money and time and left no room for fine arts. Still, it is also very nice spending time enjoying drawings and paintings occasionally. I felt Utrillo is a bit like Shunsuke Matsumoto, whom my mother likes. Drawing of ordinary scenery with a bit melancholy tone.
